"The cable car to Hon Thom is the longest over-sea cable car in the world, and the ride is the reason to come even if you skip everything at the far end. It takes around fifteen minutes each way, passing low over fishing boats and a scatter of small islands.
At the island end there is a water park and a beach, included in some tickets and not others, so check what you are buying. Many visitors ride out, spend an hour or two, and ride back; others treat it as a full day with the park.
The departure station is in the south of the island, about forty minutes from Duong Dong, and it shares a site with Sunset Town, so the two are easy to combine: cable car during the day, the town for sunset and the evening show.
Weather matters more here than most places on the island. The cable car closes in strong wind or thunderstorms, which are common on summer afternoons, so a morning ride is the safer plan."
