Since April 2026, foreign travellers arriving in Vietnam by air submit their details online before arrival, on the Immigration Department's official site: https://prearrival.immigration.gov.vn
- Free. Use only the address above; the Immigration Department warns of fake sites that charge fees or steal card details.
- When: within 3 days before entry, or on arrival at the airport.
- Airports: Tan Son Nhat (pilot from 15 April 2026), Noi Bai, Da Nang, Cam Ranh; compulsory for international arrivals at Phu Quoc since 1 June 2026.
- Who: foreign passport holders, including e-visa and visa-exempt travellers. Vietnamese passport holders do not need it.
- Result: a personal QR code to show at immigration; travellers who have declared can use the priority area.
- It is not a visa: you still need an e-visa or a visa exemption.
Note: the rollout is still expanding airport by airport; check the official site and your airline before you fly.
