Vietnamese travellers apply for the Visitor visa (subclass 600), Tourist stream, fully online.
- How to apply: create an ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website, fill in the form, upload documents and pay. You may be asked for biometrics or a health check afterwards.
- Main documents: passport; itinerary; proof of funds (statements, savings); employment letter and leave approval; proof of ties to Vietnam; an invitation letter if visiting family.
- Fee (from 1 July 2026, applying outside Australia): AUD 250.
- Processing: varies over time; check the processing-time tool on the official site.
- Apply at least 1–2 months before travel.
Note: Australia's summer (December–February) is busy, with more applications; apply earlier.
