Under Russian Presidential Decree No. 730 and guidance from the Russian Embassy in Vietnam:
- Valid from 15 October 2026 to 15 October 2027 inclusive.
- Vietnamese citizens holding a valid ordinary passport may enter, leave and transit Russia without a visa, staying up to 30 days per visit, counted from the day of entry.
- Unlimited entries, but total stay must not exceed 90 days.
- Permitted purposes: tourism, family visits, business trips, scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic and sports events; transit.
- Does not apply to entry for work (including journalism), study or residence; these still require a visa.
- Areas and facilities requiring a special permit for foreigners under Russian rules remain off-limits.
- Carry proof of your trip purpose: hotel booking, flight tickets, an invitation letter or proof of family ties. Medical insurance is not required but recommended.
Russian authorities may still refuse entry under federal law. Check the Russian Embassy's website before travelling.
