There are no direct flights from Vietnam to Murmansk; you usually connect in Moscow or Saint Petersburg.
- Vietnam → Moscow: Vietnam Airlines and Aeroflot fly nonstop from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (about 9–10 hours).
- Moscow → Murmansk: about 2.5 hours on a domestic flight (Aeroflot, Pobeda, Smartavia…); about 2 hours from Saint Petersburg. Trains take about 35 hours from Moscow and 26 hours from Saint Petersburg.
- Murmansk airport → city: bus 106 (about 1 hour) or Yandex Go taxi (30–40 minutes).
Tips:
- Buy Russian domestic tickets on sites that accept international cards, because foreign-issued Visa/Mastercard cards don't work inside Russia.
- Leave a generous connection (at least 3–4 hours, or overnight in Moscow), as Russian airports sometimes close temporarily and flights get delayed.
- Arctic winter weather can delay flights; get travel insurance that covers delays.
