How do you book the return flight from Europe cheaply?

Europe · Updated 2026-08 · From MeTravel's own trips

Book a multi-city ticket under one booking reference instead of separate outbound and return tickets. Full-service airlines often price one-way tickets very high, sometimes close to or above a return fare.

  • Example: leg 1 Hanoi (HAN) → Paris (CDG), leg 2 Milan or Rome → Hanoi (HAN).
  • Flying home from Italy: Milan (Malpensa, MXP) is the cheapest with the most options. The train from Zurich or Lucerne to Milan takes about 3–4 hours.
  • Rome (Fiumicino, FCO) suits itineraries that end in central or southern Italy.
  • Airlines with good Italy – Vietnam fares: China Eastern, Air China, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Turkish Airlines and Vietnam Airlines (direct Milan – Hanoi).
