Strasbourg calls itself the "Capital of Christmas"; in 2026 its market is expected to run 27 November – 24 December.
- Strasbourg: over a dozen market sites across the Grande Ile old town, a giant tree on Place Kleber, and the cathedral.
- Opening day usually starts in the afternoon; 24 December closes early; 25 December closed.
- Colmar: about 30 minutes by train, colourful half-timbered houses, and "Little Venice" lit up for photos.
- Combine them: stay in Strasbourg and day-trip to Colmar and the villages of Riquewihr and Kaysersberg.
Note: bags are checked at the bridges into the old town; don't bring suitcases into the market area, and weekends are very crowded.
MeTravel will provide updates on its fanpage regarding when the market will open.
