Taipei Main Station area or Ximending are the most convenient for a first visit.
- Taipei Main Station: hub for the airport train, high-speed rail and MRT; good if you'll visit other cities.
- Ximending: lively, great for food and shopping, mid-range prices.
- Zhongshan: quieter, café-filled, close to Ningxia night market.
- Xinyi: near Taipei 101, modern but pricier.
Note: stay near an MRT station; getting around Taipei by train is very easy.
