Night markets are the tastiest, cheapest places to eat in Taipei, and each has its own character.
- Shilin: the biggest and most famous, lots of games and food; very touristy.
- Raohe: compact and easy to walk, famous for oven-baked pepper buns.
- Ningxia: focused on traditional food, with many stalls recommended by Michelin.
- Must-tries: bubble tea, giant fried chicken, stinky tofu, oyster vermicelli, shaved ice.
Note: many stalls take cash only; carry small New Taiwan dollar (TWD) notes.
